Buckeye Dip
A creamy, no-bake dessert dip inspired by the classic Buckeye candy! Perfect for parties, game day, or a sweet treat with graham crackers, pretzels, or fruit.
Prep time: 15 minutes
Chill time: 1 hour
Serves: 10–12
Ingredients
-
2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
-
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
-
1 ½ cups creamy peanut butter
-
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-
1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
-
1 ½ cups mini chocolate chips, divided
-
1 (7 oz) bottle Magic Shell chocolate topping
-
For serving: pretzel sticks, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, apple slices, or strawberries
Instructions
-
Mix base:
In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, peanut butter, and vanilla extract. Beat until fully combined and creamy. -
Fold in whipped topping:
Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until no streaks remain. -
Add chocolate chips:
Fold in 1 cup of the mini chocolate chips, reserving ½ cup for garnish. -
Assemble in dish:
Spread the mixture evenly into a 9×9-inch dish or a similar serving bowl. -
Top with Magic Shell:
Drizzle the entire bottle of Magic Shell over the top in a zigzag pattern—it will harden into a crackly chocolate shell as it sets. Immediately sprinkle the remaining ½ cup mini chocolate chips over the top before the shell fully hardens. -
Chill:
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set. -
Serve:
Pair with pretzels, graham crackers, cookies, or fresh fruit for dipping.
Tips & Variations:
-
For a lighter version, use reduced-fat cream cheese and whipped topping.
-
Swap Magic Shell with hot fudge sauce if you prefer a softer topping.
-
Add a sprinkle of flaky sea salt over the chocolate layer for a sweet-salty twist.
-
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
This rich, peanut buttery, chocolate-coated dip is always a crowd favorite—easy to make and even easier to devour! 🥜🍫
